Meet
the physiotherapists
Shân Lawson BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy MCSP
Shân
studied physiotherapy at Brighton University; during her time there
she had the privilege of working in the World Netball Tournament
in Birmingham with the physiotherapy support team. After graduating
in 1996 she went to work in Singleton Hospital, Swansea where she
was a junior physiotherapist completing half of her rotations. A
senior post was calling in Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth and there
she went to work to complete her junior rotations and was promoted
through the ranks to a Senior I physiotherapist in the out-patients
department.
During
her time in Bronglais she also ran an evening Sports Injuries Clinic
for Aberystwyth University. This service ran for a total of three
years. During this time Shân also played Netball at County
level and supported the team with their injuries. Shân was
the physiotherapist for the Welsh Netball Team in the season 2000-01.
Shân
opened Aberystwyth Physiotherapy & Sportscare Clinic in July
2003. Since opening she has completed her training to use acupuncture
as a treatment modality.
Special
interests include management of neck and back pain using traditional
physiotherapy alongside acupuncture, treatment of sports injuries
and supervision of whiplash associated disorder. She is registered
with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the Health Professions
Council (HPC), Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists
(AACP) and the Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private
Practice (OCPPP).
